Groups Prepare To Take In Track Greyhounds
The Kansas Lottery is continuing talks with the Woodlands on a deal for slot machines at the dog and horse track. Last week, the Woodlands announced that it will shut down on Aug. 24. But the track's general manager said it still hopes to reach an agreement for up to 800 slot machines that would allow it to reopen. If the track stays closed, hundreds of greyhounds may be looking for a home. KMBC's Bev Chapman reported that a local animal rescue group is already preparing to take in the dogs ...
